My Tasting Notes: I tried this tequila at El Patron Bar and Grill in Sacramento, CA
and tasted it in a martini glass. While this bottle has a unique design, the tequilas
quality versus price is the lowest out of any tequila I have rated. With a yellow golden
color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral and earth. Other aromas include mild
fruit and smoke. Due to the use of a martini glass (El Patron’s normal tequila glass) it
was extremely hard to get any aroma from the tequila. The tequila has an oily mouth
feel and on the first sip is sweet with moderate-to-mild bitterness. Tezon Anejo has
intense aromas of earth followed by moderate-to-intense notes of chemicals, floral,
and wood. With a medium-to-long duration of flavor, tastes of moderate agave and
mild fruit and spice bring this tequila to a numbing finish.

Other Info: All Tezon bottles come with neck tags. The neck tag on this bottle
states that "Tezon takes its name from the indigenous volcanic mineral, known locally
as Tezontle, from which we fashion the traditional wheel-press, or Tahona - the
cornerstone of our unique production process.
In the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico's red volcanic soil provides the perfect environment
for the very best blue agave. We hand-harvest and prepare our agave to ensure that
only the best go into Tezon, giving it its unique flavor and authenticity.
After harvesting, our blue agave is gently cooked in "mamposteria" brick-ovens for 3
days. The temperature and cooking conditions are carefully regulated and again great
skill is called for to get the very best of the agave pina.
The Tahona is the traditional wheel press. Although more time efficient technology
exists, we use this time-honored tool to gently mash the pinas allowing both the juice
and fibers to develop an extraordinary level of flavor and complexity.
The "Spirit" of Tezon lies in its transformation from solid to liquid, via our unique
handcrafted process. Here, the agave fibers and juices are distilled in small batch
copper-pots stills, slowly creating Tezon from the heart of the agave, a truly amazing
tequila.
Once the distillation process is complete, Tezon is laid to slumber and aged in white-
oak casks. The result is a fragrant and smooth, full-bodied tequila we are sure you will
enjoy."
