My Tasting Notes: I tried this tequila at a friend’s house and tasted it out of a
spirits glass.  The tequila is a pale yellow color with aromas consisting of intense floral
aspects followed by moderate earth and fruit.  On the lighter side, this Reposado has
mild aromas of spice.  On the tongue, this tequila is mellow and has a thin mouth feel.
While the tequila has mild agave flavor, it is semi-sweet and has no bitterness.  The
flavor of this tequila contains moderate notes of floral and fruit followed by mild agave
and earthy aspects.  Deeper flavors of Galardon consist of hints of spice and wood.
Upon finishing this tequila, there is a short duration of flavor and subtle numbing
alcohol intensity.

"Sauza Galardon Reposado Tequila - Crafted from 100% Blue Agave, Galardon
Reposado is made in small batches and aged in white oak casks up to one year, twice
as long as most other premium Reposado tequilas. It has overtones of vanilla in the
nose, and a medium bodied, pleasant flavor." -

"Sauza calls Galardon a "Gran Reposdo". While the average tequila in this category is
rested from two to six months Sauza apparently left Galardon in small oak barrels for
eleven months. It seems to me they should have left it in the wood for just one more
month, and called it añejo. It's all about marketing I suppose. Actually it's not a bad
tequila but it takes on a little too much of the wood for my tastes. The labels are
numbered and Galardon was supposed to have had a very limited production. Having
said that, Galardon has been sold all over the place for a long time, so it must have
enjoyed an extremely large, limited production. At least here in the States the Sauza
line has been trimmed to 7 products and Galardon is no longer on the list. Maybe that
"limited" production has finally run its course. If you prefer a young tequila añejo or like
your reposado aged a little longer than usual, than Galardon may be the ticket." -
