Info on the Back of the Bottle: "With a century-old tradition of excellence, the
legendary casa Viuda de Romero proudly presents its premier Tequila Real Hacienda.

In the distillation process of this premium line of Tequila, only 100% blue agave
tequilana weber is used , which is grown in the fertile volcanic soils that surround the
historic Village of Tequila in the state of Jalisco, Mexico.

The superior quality of Anejo is attained by using only agaves that have been
cultivated to full maturation, a process taking 8 to 10 years.  After distillation, Anejo is
aged for at least two years in white oak barrels to enhance the smooth and velvety
taste that distinguishes this tequila.

The family of casa Viuda de Romero invites you to experience the taste of Tequila Real
Hacienda Anejo, the ultimate taste in aged Tequila."

Other Info: The date stamp on this bottle is September 15, 1998.

"Real Hacienda has long been one of my favorites in all categories and this Añejo is no
exception. It's 2 years spent in oak barrels seems to me like the perfect amount of time
as the spirit has taken on the positive benefits of the wood and yet retains it's
excellent agave character. This tequila would hold it's own with many, much more
expensive brands of tequila Añejo and would easily warrant a 3 star or better rating. I
feel it deserves additional accolades because it's consistently been reasonably priced
and one of the better values in the Añejo market (When and if you can find it)."

Unfortunately, this tequila distillery is no longer up and running.  The NOM has since
been transferred to another distillery.  On a recent trip to Mexico I saw a new bottle of
Real Hacienda and both myself and Mark Cannon from
Pocotequila.com tried it at
dinner.  While the new product was good, for the money, it is not the same as it once
was and with the distillery gone it looks like it never will.
