Other Info: To my knowledge, these Pura Sangre bottles were released after
Porfidio’s bottles were already on the market.  Side by side, the Pura Sangre and
Porfidio bottles are almost identical.  I am sure this was part of the reasoning that Pura
Sangre changed to these bottles.  By having similar bottles, consumers may purchase
more of their product due to Porfidio’s huge following.  I know that the first time I saw
these Cactus Series bottles I wondered if they were somehow connected to Porfidio.
These bottles have come and gone off the market and from what I am told they were
originally sued by Porfidio and forced to stop producing the Cactus Series bottles.  As
soon as they were removed from the market, they quickly became a collector’s item
and I saw prices as high as $200 each for the Anejo, Reposado, and Blanco.

In 2007, the bottles of Anejo showed up at Beverages and More and were being blown
out at the discounted price of $29.99.  At this price, the tequila was a steal and I
personally went through numerous bottles.  Unfortunately, as quick as they came, they
were gone.  I talked to one of the manager’s at the local Bevmo and he said that they
were forced to remove them from the shelves.  The manager was very upset about the
removal of the bottles because he had planned to buy more and said he could not
even get any for himself.  Since that time, I have never seen the Cactus bottles for sale.
