My Tasting Notes: I purchased this tequila for $35 and tasted it at my home out of
a Riedel glass. The tequila is golden in color. This Anejo’s aromas consist of intense
caramel and floral aspects followed by moderate spice and earth. On the lighter side,
this Anejo has mild aromas of vanilla, fruit, and smoke. On the tongue, this tequila is
mellow and has a medium mouth feel. While the tequila has moderate-to-heavy agave
flavor, it is sweet with some minimal bitterness. The flavor of this tequila contains
intense notes of floral, wood, and caramel followed by moderate-to-intense agave and
earth aspects. Upon finishing this tequila, there is a medium-to-long duration of flavor
and numbing alcohol intensity.

Other Info: Shortly after the disappearance of the Pura Sangre Cactus Series
bottles, these Agave Series bottles started showing up at stores. The bottles changed
so fast that my bottles of Agave Series still say Cactus Series on the back labels. This
speedy change would coincide with the lawsuit story I had heard previously about the
Cactus Series bottles.
Unfortunately, these bottles started disappearing faster than the Cactus bottles did.
While I still see them sometimes in the LA and SF areas, they are becoming extremely
rare. Last I heard, Pura Sangre had been forced to remove the Agave Series bottles
when threatened with another lawsuit due to similarities with other bottles. With that
said, I do not expect them to ever be as rare as the Porfidio bottles or even there
Cactus Series counterparts but are definitely worth picking up (if you can find them).
