My Tasting Notes: On this date I tried this tequila at Grad Tequila Bar using a
snifter.  This tequila is an amber brown color and has an intense aroma of floral and
earth with moderate caramel and fruit.  There are also mild spice and hints of smoke.  A
mellow taste on the tip of the tongue leads to a semi-sweet sensation with no
bitterness.  The Anejo flavor contains intense agave and earth flavors with moderate
floral, caramel, and wood.  The tequila also has hints of fruit, vanilla, spice, and
chemicals.  Partida Anejo finishes with a long duration of flavor and a slightly numbing
alcohol feeling.

Other Info: "The Partida Tequila story begins in 2001. Gary Shansby, noted San
Francisco - based marketer and brand builder with Famous Amos Cookies, Mauna Loa
Macadamias Nuts, Terra Chips, and Vitamin Water already to his credit, had a long-time
wish.a wish to apply his expertise to the development of a premium spirit. This drive,
along with his deep love and respect for Mexico, inspired him to immerse himself in
Mexico's rich and distinguished Tequila culture.

His findings? The key to a top-quality Tequila is a carefully cultivated supply of blue
agave, the source of premium tequila. Through his research into the romantic heritage
of Mexico's tequila region, Shansby observed the similarities between tequila and fine
wine, another renowned agricultural product.

By sheer luck, Gary met Sofia Partida, the California-based niece of Enrique Partida, the
owner of a leading blue agave estate in Amatitan, Jalisco, the birthplace of premium
tequilas. That chance meeting launched an intensive three-year project during which
the cultivation, cooking, and distillation of Partida Tequila were tirelessly examined. Old
traditions were strengthened while new developments were created. The marketing of
Partida Tequila was planned to reflect the true heritage, passion and pride of Mexico.
Nothing was left to chance.

The end result? The celebrated Partida Tequila." -
