My Tasting Notes: MuchoTE Reposado was donated to me by the owners of the
company but is estimated to be at a shelf cost of $30 a bottle.  I tasted this tequila in
my home and used a Riedel glass for tasting.  The bottle is similar to a normal bottle
and is very basic.  The company philosophy is that they put everything into the tequila
and do not distract you with the bottle which would add to a higher cost.  MuchoTE
ages their Reposado for at least 7 months which causes it to be a pale yellow, golden
color.  Intense aromas of this tequila include floral accents that are followed by
moderate notes of fruit.  Deeper in the aroma are hints of earth and a minimal hint of
caramel.  In the mouth, the Reposado is smooth (in a good way) and is mellow and
soft on the tongue.  While the tequila is somewhat sweet, there is only a slight hint of
bitterness.  When examining the flavors of MuchoTE, first impressions include intense
floral accents with a good amount of agave.  On a second sip, I noticed moderate
flavors of fruit.  When searching for deeper flavors upon tasting the tequila, one can
taste hints of earth and wood followed by a slight hint of caramel on the back end.
This tequila finishes with a medium-to-long duration of flavor and subtle numbing
alcohol intensity.

Info on the Back of the Bottle: "Always handmade of 100% blue Agave with
care and attention to every detail, this quality Tequila has not changed in three
generations and never will.  Traditionally, the best tequila is found in a simple bottle.
What is inside is what matters most.  We know you will agree.  Tequila to be enjoyed...
Salud!"

Other Info: This tequila is from the second bottling and is considered the collectible
edition which was released in 2009.

"Twin brothers, Will and Dave Elger from Denver have spent the past decade in the
liquor business doing their part to sell, promote and make famous some of the most
well known brands in the world. The twins have always been huge fans of great
tequila but felt the high prices of these really good tequilas were a real bummer, they
were sure they could do better on their own. Through their travels they discovered a
very cool tequila distillery near Jalisco. Will and Dave developed a close relationship
with a master distiller and together started making what they feel is the best tasting
Reposado tequila available. Many tastings and many recipes later MUCHOTE was born.
A super premium Reposado style tequila produced in limited quantities.

In no time, MUCHOTE was a hit, Will and Dave originally intended to produce just
enough MUCHOTE to share with their friends. Now Will and Dave being the fun loving
guys that they are, decided they wanted to make more friends, so they started making
more tequila. Of course you don't make your friends pay for fancy bottles or expensive
advertising costs so they skipped all this so that MUCHOTE could be priced, for friends.
Great tequila at a great price, just really good "juice" as they call it. So now it's just
Will, Dave, MUCHOTE and their friends. As for all those other big time, expensive
tequilas, they'll always be there, but for now Will and Dave hope you'll try MUCHOTE ...
and stick with your friends.

- A LITTLE ABOUT THE NAME -

MUCHOTE comes from the word Mucho. Will and Dave, who believe in getting the most
out of life started with the word Mucho which in Spanish simply means "a lot". For Will
and Dave their tequila is all about lots of flavor, lots of attention to detail, authenticity
and lots of value always to be shared with lots of friends. In short, the best tequila
possible.

While making MUCHOTE tequila Will and Dave realized that a lot was not enough, they
wanted more for their friends. So Mucho became MUCHOTE and a lot became a whole
lot more. Next time you are in Mexico ask someone down there what MUCHOTE means.
Chances are they will just smile. Because MUCHOTE is not something you can measure
or describe, it is more like... a feeling. Salud!

- PROCESS -

MUCHOTE tequila is made from 100% blue Tequilana Weber agave. Made from the
distilled sap found in the heart (piña) of the blue agave (many believe the agave to be
a cactus, the plant is actually a distant cousin to the lily).

Once the Agave piñas are harvested by our Jimador, they are placed in small adobe
ovens (hornitos) where they are steamed for 72 hours. Through this traditional steam
method, the lower temperatures ensure the survival of the piñas flavor enhancing
enzymes. Following this process the transformed soft pinas are now pressed in order
to extract the juices, which are placed in the fermentation tanks. Natural fermentation
takes from 7 to 10 days. Once the sugar content in the juice has been converted to
alcohol, the natural reaction stops and the juice is ready for the first distillation.

The final distilled product is as clear as water and measures 76 degrees alcohol by
volume (152 proof). Water from Don Vivanco´s artesian well is distilled and blended
with the 100% pure tequila to reduce it to 40 degrees alcohol by volume (80 proof).
The final product is aged in small charred American bourbon oak casks (190 liters),
which impart the full flavor and golden color to the tequila.

Finally, MUCHOTE tequila is selected by a tasting panel, to ensure the aroma and flavor
are right. For a tequila to be labeled “Reposado” (rested) the product must be aged a
minimum of two months in oak. As in everything we do, Muchote Tequila Reposado, far
exceeds this requirement and is aged for at least 7 months. For Tequila to be labeled
100% blue agave the agave must be harvested, distilled and bottled in one of 5
regions of Mexico. If any part of this process takes place outside these regions, it can
no longer be called Tequila. The distillation techniques and growing of the agave has
been perfected to a science over the past 400 years.

Our commitment is that MUCHOTE tequila is Handmade every step of the way by
passionate people not machines. Muchote Tequila is made with 100% Weber Blue
Agave, every harvested agave is hand selected based on sugar content not weight.
Our mission is to bring you excellent tequila at an acceptable price."  -
