Other Info: "It was probably late in the year of 2001 that I was made aware that
this 100% agave Cuervo product had only been sold in the United States and not
marketed in Mexico. I had also been informed by a reliable source that Jose Cuervo
Añejo would be dropped from the Cuervo line and no longer be produced. Months later
in the summer of 2002 this product showed up in at least several Mexican airport duty
free shops. This seemed a bit odd considering the previous information but now it
appears this may have been done as a liquidation of the products inventory in Mexico.
At that point in time Jose Cuervo Añejo continued to be represented at Cuervo.com but
now in 2003 it is gone. Add the fact that the product is no longer listed at any of the
on-line liquor stores and it certainly seems that the phasing out of this Cuervo Añejo is
complete.

The following text is from "cocktailtimes.com" -

Made from 100 percent blue agave, it represents Jose Cuervo's heritage, authenticity
and quality which are based on 200 years of experience. This project is aged for a at
least one year in American oak cask barrels to create a smooth, well-rounded tequila
with subtle whiskey flavours. The smooth, mellow taste makes it perfect for sipping
straight, on the rocks, or as the ultimate Jose Cuervo shot.

The neck wrap on the bottle is a replica of the land grant given to Jose Antonia de
Cuervo by the King of Spain in 1758.' -
