My Tasting Notes: On this date I tried this tequila at Zocalo using a snifter.  This
tequila is an amber brown color and has intense aromas of earth and fruit.  There are
also moderate aromas of caramel and vanilla followed by mild notes of floral and spice.
A soft taste on the tip of the tongue leads to a low amount of sweetness with mild
bitterness.  The Gran Centenario Anejo flavor contains intense agave flavors with
moderate floral and earth.  The tequila also has mild notes of fruit, caramel, wood,
chemicals, and smoke.  Gran Centenario Anejo finishes with a medium-to-long duration
of flavor and a subtle numbing alcohol feeling.

Info on the Back of the Bottle: "Centenario Anejo is a tequila of unparalleled
smoothness and quality.  It is distilled from carefully selected 10-year-old blue agave
plants and aged in new oak barrels to achieve the perfect balance of taste and
smoothness."

Other Info: The front of the bottle states, "Selection Suave is a process in which the
Tequila Master selects only the smoothest, best quality aged Anejo tequilas and blends
them according to the process established by Lazaro Gallardo in 1857."

According to
Gran Centenario, "This is a refined tequila made with 100% blue agave.
Its unique slow aging for long periods of time in new barrels of white oak provides the
intense amber color which is the distinguishing feature of the finest aged tequilas.  The
combination of agave and wood grants delicate flavors of cooked agave and toasted
almonds with complementary hints of vanilla that are quite pleasing to the palate.

You will find that this is a full-bodied tequila with admirable consistency, ideal to be
enjoyed neat or on the rocks."
