Info on the Back of the Bottle: "Don Felipe's Treasure - El Tesoro de Don Felipe
is the last of its kind.  This work of art is the only tequila still produced entirely in the
old traditional method: by hand.  Don Felipe personally walks his fields and selects
agave plants for their maturity and quality.  The harvested agave is slowly steamed in
brick ovens and crushed with a stone wheel.  It is then fermented in wood tanks and
distilled to exactly 80 proof so that water is never added to dilute the tequila.  El
Tesoro is aged in American oak bourbon barrels which are placed in Don Felipe's
humidity controlled cellars.  There they sleep, the flavor and color developing naturally
with time, until he selects them for blending and bottling.  Estate grown, produced and
bottled.  Aged 2-3 years in government inspected and sealed oak barrels."

Other Info: I had the pleasure of meeting Carlos Camarena (the master distiller of El
Tesoro) in San Francisco, and while it was not the first time meeting him, it was a truly
memorable event.  Carlos was in town promoting the 70th Anniversary of El Tesoro.
We, by we I mean Emily Fry and myself, followed Carlos around and attend most of the
events he had that day.  Pictures of that day are on the Tasting Aficionados website if
you would like to see them.  If you look closely at the picture of Carlos signing bottles
you will notice that he is signing one of my El Tesoro White Label bottles.  Thus, each
time I look at these signed bottles I remember the long, but fun, day of drinking with
Carlos in San Francisco.
