My Tasting Notes: I purchased 1.5 ounces of this tequila at Zocalo in Sacramento,
CA for $18 and tasted it out of a snifter. The tequila is an amber brown color. El
Tesoro Paradiso Anejo aromas consist of intense vanilla, caramel, and floral aspects
followed by moderate-to-intense fruit. On the lighter side, this Anejo has mild aromas
of earth with a hint of spice. On the tip of tongue, this tequila is mellow and has a
heavy and almost syrupy mouth feel. While the tequila has moderate-to-heavy agave
flavor, it is sweet and has mild bitterness. The flavor of this tequila contains intense
flavors of caramel followed by moderate earth and chemical aspects. Deeper flavors of
El Tesoro Paradiso Anejo consist of mild fruit, floral, vanilla, and smoke. Upon finishing
this tequila, there is a medium-to- long duration of flavor and numbing alcohol intensity.
Info on the Back of the Bottle: "Paradiso is produced and aged up to 5 years in
extremely limited quantities."
Other Info: According to Carlos, Lot B was released in 1999.
The front of the bottle states "this tequila represents a meld of two great talents, the
art of the tequila maker and the experience of the cognac blender. Paradisio is a
traditional tequila created in the style of the great cognac."
In addition, the neck tag states the following: "Paradiso Anejo is a harmonious
masterpiece which combines the art of tequila production and cognac blending.
With master cognac blender Alain Royer acting as a consultant, Carlos Camarena the
cellar master and son of Don Felipe, created an elegant blend.
Paradiso is a blend of Don Felipe's finest tequilas selected for distinctive characteristics
and married together in barrels used for aging cognac brought from France. The result
is an amazing tequila with an age range up to four years.
The careful selection of barrels and the aging process do not mask the origins of 100%
agave tequila but instead add the sensual elegance of French cognac, allowing the
essence of the tequila to shine through. Very limited availability."
