My Tasting Notes: I tried this tequila at Zocalo in Sacramento, CA. 1.5 ounces of El
Tesoro Anejo ran me $10 and I tasted it in a snifter. With a pale yellow golden color,
this tequila has intense aromas of floral, fruit, and earth. Other aromas include
moderate caramel and spice followed by mild vanilla. The tequila has a medium-to-oily
mouth feel and on the first sip is sweet with mild-to-moderate bitterness. El Tesoro
Anejo has intense aromas of earth, floral, and agave followed by moderate notes of
fruit. With a long duration of flavor, tastes of mild vanilla, caramel, and smoke bring
this tequila to a numbing finish.
Info on the Back of the Bottle: "Aged 2-3 years in government inspected and
sealed oak barrels"
Other Info: The front of the bottle states "El Tesoro de Don Felipe is made from only
mature estate grown agave plants."
"El Tesoro de Don Felipe is the last of its kind. This work of art is the only tequila still
produced entirely in the old traditional method: by hand. Don Felipe personally walks
his fields and selects agave plants foe their maturity and quality. This Anejo tequila is
aged in American oak bourbon barrels, which are placed in Don Felipe's humidity
controlled cellars. There they sleep, the flavor and color developing naturally with time,
until he selects them for blending and bottling. Enjoy Don Felipe's Treasure." -El

they are the only tequila that is distilled to proof. This means that no water is added
to El Tesoro, making El Tesoro truly one of a kind.
