My Tasting Notes: I opened a bottle of this, which cost me $116, at my home and
tasted it in a Riedel glass.  While this bottle has a unique design, it is the tequilas
quality versus price that makes this great.  In my opinion, this tequila is worth far more
than $116.  With a golden color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral, vanilla, and
caramel.  Other aromas include moderate fruit and a hint of spice.  The tequila has a
medium mouth feel and on the first sip is very sweet with a hint of bitterness.  El Gran
Viejo has numerous arrays of flavors due to its 4 years of aging.  Intense flavors of
caramel and floral are followed by moderate notes of agave, fruit, and vanilla.  With a
long duration of flavor, tastes of mild spice with a hint of earth and smoke bring this
tequila to a numbing finish.

Other Info: "The distillery El Llano is located in the heart of the town of Tequila,
Jalisco and is privileged by the waters that come from the volcano of Tequila.

El Llano was founded in the 1900’s by the predecessors of the present owners and
administrators, the gentlemen Eduardo and Jaime Orendain, who belong to one of the
most famous family in this industry.

The distillery was rebuilt between the years 1976 and 1978.  The brand of Arette was
created in 1986.  Arette is a very well accepted brand thanks to the high quality of the
product which distinguishes the company." -
