In late 2009/early 2010, Don Julio moved away from the original bottle design for 1942
and completely redesigned it from the ground up.  The bottle, box, packaging, and juice
are all different than before.  While the juice is still obviously 1942, it is definitely
different from what we have all come to know as 1942...In my opinion, it is better!  I
suggest that everyone try the old and new bottles side by side to see the subtle
differences between them.  Don't take my word for it...judge it for yourselves.

The bottle and box for 1942 come with an insert that states the following: "In 1942,
Don Julio Gonzalez founded his distillery, La Primavera, under the brilliant sunshine of
Los Altos de Jalisco.  From the cultivation of the agave to the bottling of the final
product, he refined an intricate process that produces one of Mexico's most exquisite
tequilas.

The process begins by hand selecting the agave plants that take seven to ten years to
mature.  The agave is then slowly roasted for 70 hours in traditional masonry ovens
and double distilled in a special alambique.  This limited edition tequila is crafted from
the finest agave and aged until it reaches the most extraordinary levels of flavor and
character.

Don Julio 1942 coats the palate with roasted agave and vanilla flavors, sun-ripened
tropical fruits and spiced undertones to create a wonderfully unique tequila
experience."
