My Tasting Notes: I purchased 1.5 ounces of this tequila at Zocalo in Sacramento,
CA for $10 and tasted it out of a snifter. The tequila is a yellow golden color and is
aged for 8 months. Chinaco Reposado aromas consist of intense earth and floral
aspects followed by moderate fruit and spice. On the lighter side, this Reposado has
mild aromas of smoke and pepper with hints of vanilla and caramel. On the tip of
tongue, this tequila is mellow and has a heavy and oily mouth feel. While the tequila
has moderate agave flavor, it is sweet and has only a hint of bitterness. The flavor of
this tequila contains intense flavors of earth and floral followed by moderate agave
and chemical aspects. Deeper flavors of Chinaco Reposado consist of mild fruit and
spice. Upon finishing this tequila, there is a long-to-very long duration of flavor and
numbing alcohol intensity.

Other Info: The Neck tag on the Chinaco bottle reads, "When Chinaco 100% Blue
Agave tequila first arrived in the United States in 1983, it created a new category
within the tequila industry. Chinaco was the first of the true super-premium tequilas to
come to the USA. Immediately Chinaco built a reputation for itself among the true
connoisseurs of great tequila. After the distillery was closed in the late 1980's,
Chinaco became the most sought after tequila ever produced. Since then, many other
tequilas have attempted to emulate its success. Now, under the guidance of the four
sons of the founder, Guillermo Gonzalez, La Gonzalena distillery is once again
producing legendary tequila in very limited quantities.
Chinaco Reposado tequila is carefully aged for up to 1 year. Unlike other reposado
tequilas, Chinaco Reposado is aged in selected oak barrels, not large vats. This allows
the tequila increased exposure to the wood resulting in a polished character.
Serve Chinaco Reposado as you like it: neat, on the rocks, in a margarita, or any way
you choose to enjoy it.
May we also suggest the fresh Chinaco Blanco and the legendary Chinaco Anejo.
