Info on the Back of the Bottle: La Gonzaleña initiated operations in the year of
1978, and in 1984 entered the American market achieving success with its product
"Tequila Chinaco" which obtains recognition and at the same time the highest prices of
its kind in America.  Currently with a new administration they intend to conserve and to
enlarge its sales abroad as well as to conquer the domestic market with its
high-quality products.

This tequila is called "Chinaco" in memory to the self-sacrificing Mexicans defenders of
the country that during the war of reform (1858-1861) and the French intervention
(1863) they fought for her, they are the most notable and famous warriors in the
History of Mexico's Independence, being characterized for their bravery, elegance, and
their great ability as the riders to the corrupt style.

According to the Mexican laws, the "Tequila Reposado", is that Tequila that is kept in
containers of white oak or Encino, from two months to a year.  The Chinaco
"Reposado" devises 100% agave Tequilana Weber Azul blue variety and is aged from
six months to a year in select white oak casks.  Achieving a unique, mature, and
smooth flavor that is sought by the authentic experts of the Authentic Tequila, for
which Chinaco is an exceptional Tequila.

Other Info: When I got to Cancun for the Agave Spirits Challenge I saw this bottle
at a tequila bar and hoped to find it while in Mexico.  For the event judging, we only
had one day off and I spent my day in search of this tequila.  I got dropped off about 5
miles or more from the hotel and started walking back stopping at every liquor store
along the way.  After about 30-40 stores I finally came across an alley that had a store
about halfway down it.  In store I came across this bottle for $40 and felt that my
lengthy walk was all worthwhile.  I went to about 5-10 more stores and then took a
cab the last mile or so back to the hotel.  It was quite an experience and my feet were
throbing the next day but I had my bottle and this story to go along with it.

The neck tag on the Chinaco bottle reads, "CHINACO 100% AGAVE TEQUILA RETURNS -
For many years Chinaco 100% agave tequila defied rivalry.  Then the tiny La Gonzalena
distillery stunned generations of discerning drinkers and stopped producing.  Now,
after a short absence, the revered name returns.

Today, the tequila that leaves La Gonzalena is only a mere trickle compared to the
production of the giant tequila factories.  But every drop of Chinaco produced under
the direction of the four sons of Guillermo Gonzales is meticulously crafted and lives up
to its legendary heritage of excellence.

Chinaco Reposado, the polished character of Reposado comes from up to one year
aging in selected oak barrels.
