Tequila Joe's Collection
ALFREDO SOLTERO 1955-2008
“After a 3 year struggle with Cancer, our friend and colleague Alfredo
Soltero (the gentleman in the photo above wearing black) is now
resting in Peace. All the people that knew Alfredo, would know how
passionate he was in his life. The passion, knowledge and promotion
that he had for our brands and Tequila, especially for "Don Julio" is
quite admirable.

Alfredo dedicated most of his career to the Food and Beverage
business in Northern California. Before he worked for our team, he
was a very successful entrepreneur in many businesses. He opened
and managed his family's restaurant "El Nido" quite successfully for
more than 20 years and it is one of the most popular Mexican
restaurants in the East Bay area. He also opened other important
businesses in the food and beverage business.

10 years ago, he decided to work in the spirits and wine business.
Alfredo then joined our company 8 years ago.

Even going through his battle with Cancer, Alfredo never ceased to
give his best to our business but also as a human being with all his
colleagues. His humor, passion to share his knowledge and energy will
never be forgotten.

Alfredo was a great mentor and advisor to me and for many of us in
Diageo, Pacific Wine and Spirits and our agency partners. I am very
grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him during the last
years of his life.

Alfredo is survived by his daughters and his wife Siria.

I hope that there is enough Agave fields in Heaven so he can continue
promoting his passion wherever his spirit lies.

Rest in Peace Alfredo.” -Diageo

While, this basically sums up the feelings of all, I would also like to add
in my personal sentiments.  I had the pleasure of having one of
Alfredo’s tastings be the first tequila tasting I ever attended.  To say
the least, he set the bar high.  We hit it off right of the bat and Alfredo
helped me get started with my love of the spirit and providing
tastings.  It is only through his guidance and a few others we both call
friends that I was able to be as successful as I am.  I owe a lot to him
and will truly miss my colleague and friend.  It is for this reason that
from now on our website will have the badge “This page is dedicated
in loving memory to Alfredo Soltero 1955-2008” on every page of Don
Julio tequila to remember his dedication to tequila and specifically Don
Julio.

To Alfredo…missed but never forgotten and in our hearts for ever.

Sincerely,
Tequila Joe Horrigan
