Tequila Joe's Collection
374 Añejo
My Tasting Notes: I tasted this tequila in my home and used a Riedel glass for
tasting.  374 ages their Anejo in American Oak barrels for 24 months which causes it to
be golden in color.  Intense floral aromas of this tequila are followed by moderate
notes of vanilla and mild notes of caramel and fruit.  In the mouth, the Anejo is medium-
to-heavy and mellow.  While the tequila is somewhat sweet, there is no bitterness.
When examining the flavors of 374 Anejo, first impressions include moderate-to-
intense floral accents with moderate agave, caramel, and vanilla on the backend.  On a
second sip, I noticed mild flavors of wood and fruit.  When searching for deeper flavors
upon tasting the tequila, one can taste hints of spice.  Finishing with a long duration of
flavor and numbing alcohol intensity, this tequila is somewhat light and mellow.

Other Info: I first saw the new 374 bottles at the 2008 Night Club and Bar Show in
Las Vegas.

"Our brand represents the area code for the city of Tequila, Jalisco and its
surroundings. 374 is the birthplace of Mexico’s national drink and pride. It was within
the area 374 that tequila was distilled for the first time back in the 1500s, making
tequila the first distilled spirit on the North American Continent.

Tequila 374 is homage to the great significance and contribution that this area has
made to the history of Mexico. We hope you will find our products worthy of its name."

It is nice to see that more companies are supporting local charities.  This company also
sponsors numerous local events and is a sponsor of the Tasting Aficionados.  We look
forward to raising more money for charities together in the future while sharing tequila.

The 374 website has the following information about 374 Anejo:

"This tequila has been aged in American oak barrels for 24 months, a premium process
that produces one of the spirit world’s rarest pleasures. 374 Añejo’s amber color and
rich taste come from its interaction with the oak and the mellowing of time. One sip
releases a distinctive flavor of exotic fruits and nuts." -
